Best thing we added to our FCP suites were dedicated keyboards with all the shortcuts printed on the keys. If you can’t afford one, you can get a keyboard “skin” with the buttons labeled for something like $30. If you can’t afford that, you can go with stick-on key labels, either purchased, or home-made. Or print out a chart from the manual, and hang it under the monitor.

A skin would probably be the cheapest and easiest. The most important ones are simple, and done in alphabetical it would seem.

“A” =Arrow
“B” =Blade (double tap for double blade)
“C” =Crop tool
“P” =Pen tool
“Z” =zoom in (double tap for zoom out)

For me I just think Arrow-A, zoom-Z and so on.

Cut and paste are the same as in everything else.

There are more and you will pick them up over time, I would recommend buying a skin rather than the specifically designed keyboard as once you are used to them you will not look at keyboard again. Think about how you first started typing you were probably looking at the keyboard all them time now it probably second nature to you, the same will happen with the shortcuts, so in my opinion it’s not worth spending money on a new keyboard.
