  Keyboard Shortcut Problems Mac

  I am day one newbie to InDesign CS5 working my way through lynda.com tutorials, and I’m stumbling on the navigation (pages and spreads) section. The keyboard shortcuts for the Layout navigation menu items don’t work on my system. Cmd Up Arrow, Cmd Down Arrow, etc. all does nothing. The Keyboard Shortcuts are all set to [default]. Is there a switch I need to throw, or a knob that needs turned?

  I deleted my preference files and recreated them to no avail. What else can I do?
