    Hi all,

I know there has got to be an easier way than going to the mouse 🙂

I’m cutting from long continuous takes. I can set in and out points, subclip, name the clip, set focus to the timeline, F10, hit the up arrow key, and I’ve got my rough edit into place.

I can play around the edit, \, but I usually need to tweak a few frames.

I haven’t found a keyboard short cut or other method for pulling up the trim edit window.

I’m a big fan of the mouse for a lot of things… editing isn’t really one of them 😉

    Your suggestions are most welcome.

    Thank you all in advance,

    Steve

Command-7 opens up the trim edit window once you have a single edit selected.

Check the manual on using dynamic editing in the trim window.

Cycling thru U changes the shape/side of the edit. You can use the number keyboard to trim.

    Does that help a little?

    Michael,

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

It helps more than a little.

Not reaching for the mouse to bring up that window will save me hours and hours.

We’re in the middle of a remodel, so its going to take some digging to find the manuals. I left Lisa Brenneis’s book out, but this time she failed me. (An unusual occurrence, her guide and Larry Jordan are my go to guys)

    Michael to the rescue. 😉

All the best, and thanks again,

    Steve

Ok so command+7 opens the ‘Trim Edit’ window; Is there a keyboard shortcut to close it? I’ve got more than 500 clips to edit so I’m trying to automate things. Mousing around ain’t gonna cut it. No pun!

    Thanks!

    Xavier
