    Hi guys

Just a quick one. I’m on the cusp of making a platform decision Mac vs PC. Anyone cutting on both platforms care to offer a view on keyboard response times?

I’ve always felt FCP had lousy keyboard response but having never cut on a USB based Media Composer on Mac (yeah, I’m old) never had the chance to work out if it’s a Mac USB thing or just FCP. Is XP better?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

OK, I’ll take that as a “no”. 🙂

Shane, a huge annoyance to me as well. I’ve had to slow myself down (keyboard-intensive user from the linear days) to run FCP – even on a new 8-core Mac. However, when using Xpress Pro on my G4s i have no such sluggishness. My keystrokes are not ignored, I don’t end up losing half my sequence because the computer got my in point but not the out point and hitting DELETE got rid of everything to the right of the in point…ARRGGH!!!

    But I digress.

Hey David, glad to hear it’s not just me! But even happier to hear its a FCP thing not Mac so my journey back to Avid will achieve what I hope.

Hardly touched the mouse in MC after starting on LightWorks. Can’t wait to get back on MC. Thanks mate.

    Cheers
