OK, so I’m trying to batch a final cut of a 90 minute movie. I can get anywhere from 1 to 10 clips captured before I get a kernel panic, specifically, a shaded screen with a window saying, “You must restart your computer…”

Now, I just went through a bunch of rigamarole with Apple regarding kernel panics and frozen cursors and had the guts of my machine replaced (logic board, RAM, processor, video card, hard drive). The problem sort of “went away” at some point and under normal usage (internet, word proc, email, etc) I haven’t had a problem with the KP’s anymore.

Now, I go back to using my AVID XPress Pro, which resides on another startup drive, and I cannot batch capture this movie. Now, it’s important to note that I CAN capture normally, but not by batching.

I realize this can be a wide topic, but, for starters, can anyone point me in a possible direction to pursue? I hope I’m leaving enough data for you to make a well-assessed guess. Thanks in advance.
