Hello guys! I’m new iusing after effects and i realliy need help. Does anyone know how can i have 1 controller that allows me to edit the distance between 10 objetcs at the same time, keeping always the same distance between them and without change de size?
Thanks so much if you are reading these

You can use a slider on a null to control the distance.
Then use index of a layer + slider to link everything together. This is all via expressions on the position of each layer.

Thank you so much for answer! <3
I never used slider and i only know how tu use very simple expression like “loop” or “wiggle”. You think that for these case i can learn how to do it (and i would really apreciate if you know some video or tutorial where i can learn) or is it too advanced and no way i can learn that in one or two days?

You can for sure learn it and it would actually be a good exercise that will help you further understand expressions. I can post an example tomorrow.

Wow thank you sooo much <3 I would really, really apreciate learning that

You can duplicate the layers to see how it works when you add more objects. Use the slider on the null to control the distance between each layer. The index value inside of “layer(index+1)” is looking at the layer below it. So if you change the stacking order it will alter how the position is calculated. I left some notes inside the expression to help you understand what is going on. As you will quickly figure out there is more than one to do something in AE, this is just one approach.

Thank you! I just think i’m doing something wrong, but nothing is happening when i move the slide or the position of the objects

Ahh! You will probably need to change the expressions to match the Spanish equivalents. I’m not sure if that is automatic or not, check the name on the “gap” variable. Does effect name match the name you have? Twirl down the Layer to reveal all the expressions on Position.
