Hi all, i am coming into Premiere Pro (5.5) from years on Avid and Final Cut. Just playing with some capture settings, and wondering about keeping my capture scratch folder organized.
In Avid, it doesn’t matter. Everything goes into the mediaFiles folder, and you try to avoid looking in that folder.

In Final cut,you designate a capture scratch location. From there FCP creates subfolders for each project you work in, helping keep your projects media organized.

i assumed Premiere did the same thing, but seems to just throw everything into 1 big folder.

Should I be creating a subfolder at the “select capture scratch” stage, if i want all captures for all projects to be separated, or am i missing another setting somewhere.

How do others keep it clean?

When you start your project, Premiere Pro asks where you’d like to store your *captured* material – not imported/linked (all file based cameras are linked. The default for the capture is wherever you locate the project. Switch projects, you just switched where new captures will reside.

Since i’m on a raid system, and my projects default to a different drive…If i create the project on the raid, will the captures then stay organized within that project folder on the raid?
