  • Keeping audio and video tracks grouped / synced?

Posted by Rob Clark on February 6, 2010 at 5:41 pm

I’m sure this is a very basic question, but I just can’t seem to find the way to do it. I’ve tried grouping the video and audio tracks.

When I perform a split (by pressing s) in the timeline it splits my video, but not the audio. If I make sure I have both tracks selected by ctrl clicking them it will split both. If there a way to set the default behavior so that when you perform a split, it splits the video and audio track? Otherwise it is a pain to have to manually select both each time.

    Thanks!

Your problem is that you’re clicking the video or audio track first to select it.
When you do that, it splits ONLY the selected event.
To split both, click in a blank area of the track and then do your split.
If there are other tracks underneath or above this one, click and shift+click the desired tracks.
