Kaleidoscope transition for FCP
Posted by Mark Hefley on September 27, 2006 at 5:31 pmDoes anyone know of a kaleidoscope transition effect for FCP. Even if it’s 3rd party that’s ok. I’m specifically looking for a transition not a filter effect.
Thanks,

September 27, 2006 at 5:52 pmThere is a Kaleidoscope effect available to you if you are using FCP Studio 5.1.2. It’s an FXplug from Motion that is now available in FCP with its new FXplug support in this release.
You need to be using FCP 5.1.2 and have Motion on your system. -

September 27, 2006 at 5:57 pmThanks for that John. I was just reading about that on this site. I do have Motion but I only have FCP 5.0 and my system is saying that there are no new updates available. What is 5.1 and how do I get it? Is it the new upgrade for the Intel version? Also, do you know if the effect is a filter or a transition?
Thanks again for the speedy response.

Do it, it’s easy and cheap. the new version is universal (Intel and powerPC) and will work on both new and old systems. The Kaleidoscope is a filter and not a traditional transition.
