Hi, I will receive my Kona 3 next week and I want to wire my patch before it gets here. Anybony knows the length of the cable that goes between the Kona 3 and the K3-Box?

    2 Meter cable is standard,

when you use the break out box on any of the models, an optional 5 meter cable is available if required.

you should assume that the cable length is going right to your MAC computer, since the cable AJA supplies is SHORT (it’s shorter than 2 meters).

You will run the following cables to your bay –
    HD IN 1
    HD IN 2
    HD Out1
    HD Out 2
    Analog Out Y
    Analog Out R-Y
    Analog Out B-Y
    Reference IN
Audio Out L (with an RCA plug)
Audio Out R (with an RCA plug)
    RS422
more lines, if you use AES/EBU audio.

I will also put the AES in the patch because I will go thru an ADA4 and a D10AD to output to and capture from BetaSP.

Oh, and my SRW5500 is my second machine room. I have to run 70 feet of cable from the Kona to the SRW5500. Should I put a DA in the middle of the line?

NO – use Belden 1505A or Belden 1694 cable, and you will have NO PROBLEMS – you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT need to DA the signal. This will work fine. Do NOT use cheap cable. (Gepco VPM-2000 cable or Canare L-4CFB cable will work great also).
