I agree on all points and yes picture quality is very important, it’s what we do.
It is possible to capture without 2:3 or any cadence for that matter, capture just the flagged frames from Varicam and add cadence back in on playout but it sounds like your project is well beyond any of that. Ouch Sounds like the project from hell.

Could you tell me a little about your experiences with Algolith? I’m interested in using it to upconvert my 720p master to a 1080p master. Have you done anything like that with it? I saw your comment about an hour per second of video for converting 1080i60 to 1080p24, which is scaring me off.Sean Meredith
