  • K2 sound out the IO?

I am thinking of adding an IO to my K2. Can I monitor audio out the IO or will there be an offset?

I really dont need to input analog video, but I was thinking of the IO just for more analog video and sound outputs.

ANother benefit I thought of owning an IO would be for a laptop uncompressed editing station when needed,

though this seems imposible since IO uses the firewire bus. Has anyone done this?

I am using a K2 to edit with and the IO as a standalone convertor and analog monitoring out of the K2. We just got it last week and it works great!

With the Kona2 are how do you have your audio monitors setup?
It looks like the outs are either digital AES or unbalanced RCA.

I’m thinking of upgrading from a basic IO LA to add the Kona2,
but my audio monitors are regular analog balanced XLR.

Would I need a flying cow AD/DA unit or a mixer or something?

    Thanks.
