JVC HM100U Audio problems – Lemon?
Experiencing major audio problems with our JVC HM100U.
- There is a high level of high-pitched hiss/noise coming through every possible mic set-up.
- At first I thought it was the stock mic. But, I rented a Sennheiser shot gun and the hiss is still there.
- The hiss is still there when I run a lav mic with a 1/8 output into the 1/8 mic input (though it is a little better).
- I have made sure to turn CH-2 to Input1 (and switching it to LINE) to prevent additional sound getting in.
- I tried to run my Sony PCM-M10 as a go-between using the line-out but … still hiss.
- Did I mention some of my tests were in a sound booth?
This sound will ruin any good tape. Any ideas would be very appreciated. I was really excited for this camera. Perhaps, I have a lemon.
