  • JVC HM100U Audio problems – Lemon?

Experiencing major audio problems with our JVC HM100U.

  • There is a high level of high-pitched hiss/noise coming through every possible mic set-up.
  • At first I thought it was the stock mic. But, I rented a Sennheiser shot gun and the hiss is still there.
  • The hiss is still there when I run a lav mic with a 1/8 output into the 1/8 mic input (though it is a little better).
  • I have made sure to turn CH-2 to Input1 (and switching it to LINE) to prevent additional sound getting in.
  • I tried to run my Sony PCM-M10 as a go-between using the line-out but … still hiss.
  • Did I mention some of my tests were in a sound booth?
  • This sound will ruin any good tape. Any ideas would be very appreciated. I was really excited for this camera. Perhaps, I have a lemon.
