    Hi list,

newbie HD questions(s) so please be patient. I’m just figuring this stuff out.

I captured HD 24f 16:9 media from a JVC HD camera with NTSC 24p with sequence settings, anamorphic checked. (probably the wrong way to begin the process).

(Can anyone confirm that I should be capturing with the HD Pro Res codec which is what I have been reading on the board.)

I’m ultimately looking to output and encode to flash keeping 24f and ratio in tact.

I do have the 16:9 image viewable in the NTSC sequence and have finished the edit.

When I try to output from my 4:3 NTSC sequence I get letterbox which I don’t want.

So. Any thoughts on what I can do from here.

When I create a HD sequqbce and copy and past my timeline, clips just occupy the middle of the 720 canvas; when I do likewise to create a 16:9 sequence and copy and past the clips from my NTSC sequqnce the image is stretched.

My question(s) is there anyway I can use the edit I have in a new HD 16:9 project si I cn output in that ratio and then encode.

As this is ultimately for the web I thought I might get away with outputting with letterbox and then cropping them out but squeeze wouldn’t let me do that. Is there anyway I can use an XML export to keep my cut and apply it to an HD sequence.

Is there a 16:9 setting available anywhere in squeeze or could I accomplish cropping in another encoding program.

Any insight into the process would be kindly received.

    Warmest,

    Kevin
