I’m looking at the JVC HD 200 for my next camera. A few questions:
Will the 720 60p mode play back on the JVC BR-HD50U deck?
Can you record hdv on the longer dvcam tapes in the JVC HD50U Deck?
Has anyone tested the $600 Angenioux lens adaptor available on Ebay?
Does the 200 suffer from the firewire problem I’ve read about with the 100 series?
Besides the ingest time, what are the advantages to using an external hd or xdcam recorder?

    Thanks,
    Gary R.

Gary, I would think twice about the JVC cameras. I am about to sell GY 200U to B and H Photo. The cameras have a lot of problems. Picture quality is not good. Notice on their specs for the camera they say ‘not specified by the manufacturer’ for signal to noise ratio. This should give you a bad feeling. What it means is that there is more noise in the picture than they want you to know about. If you decide to try it out, be prepared to send it back. I just went with a EX3. Good Luck, Andrew

I use this model for few years. Many trouble, many problems, its no good idea buy JVC. Picture is low quality, sound is low quality, (soundchip in camera is very low quality), HDV1 makes many trouble to Avid Media Composer (v2.8), maybe v3.0 or 3.5 is better (i try in few days, i must reinstalation system and make upgrade).
I back to DSR-570WSP and I use JVC only as second cam.
