jvc gy-hm1000 & gy-hm700
I just read a brief announcement of two new cameras from JVC that will record in Quicktime. The articles states that these cameras were specifically designed for FCP. What’s the story? Should all FCP users get really excited about these cameras or is this just another gimmick? I must say that I have used Sony and Panasonic exclusively for acquisition over the years and have never read or heard about a JVC camera I wanted. What say you all? Like to know.

I’ll let you know soon. Just bought HM700U. Still working out the workflow and correct codec. But certainly very simple and quick to bring clips into FCP. But because there is no real transfer process (log & transfer) the logging aspect of that process is lost. More about that when we have figured out the best method for logging.
