    Hello everyone

I own a JVC GY-HD100E camcorder and I use the Adobe CS5 suite for my post production work. I know for a fact that Premiere CS5 (version 5.03) can only capture a tape via firewire without timecode breaks (I’ve posted a relative question in Adobe’s forum located here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/745810) so I use either GV Edius 4.6 for capturing or Cineform’s Prospect HD. The thing is recently I get unwanted split scenes, for example a continuous 2-minute clip may split in 2 or more parts and with 1 or 2 frames lost, without thus getting a message about dropped frames. The above issue is valid for both Edius and Prospect HD software (both configured to split scenes across timecode breaks) and what’s weird is that playback on the camcorder’s viewfinder is trouble-free. I’m frustrated by this. Anyone with a possible solution to this is more than welcome. Could it be a transfer rate issue or a camcorder thing? Is it perhaps possible that a camcorder firmware update be the answer to the problem or is it another issue? I know a firmware update solved a similar issue for the JVC GY-HD100U model and FCP. Please help 🙂

The firmware update never really solved the issue for me. I capture all my footage through an Intensity pro card – HDMI out – HD-BR50 Deck – HDMI in. I use Blackmagic Media Express and capture straight to pro res.
