So, I have a GV-HD100 and Final Cut 5. I have a tape shot in HDV 720p. In trying to capture said footage onto the machine I get the pop up that says a stream error has occured. I’m capturing onto a half terabyte sata array, on a dual 2gig G5 with 3 gig’s of ram.

I ended up being able to capture the footage in 7 second to 3 minute clumps of video. I’ve tried setting the camera to downconvert to DV, and it keeps blinking for me to change the 1394 switch. When the switch is in the DV mode, nothing happens, if the switch is in the HDV position I can see the image on the flip out LCD, but nothing comes out the DV port. I even went as far as to try and do an E to E copy from the camera to a DV deck, but the DV deck doesn’t recognise the signal either.

Am I missing some easy simple thing? I’ve been through the menu settings what feels like hundrends of times, and still haven’t had any luck.

I’m going to cross post this to the HDV forum, any and all feed back is welcome / needed.

Wasn’t support for that camera just added (or about to be added) in 5.1.2?

Yes, I believe he needs to update FCP for it to work correctly – just run software update.

Only for 720p24. Material shot in 720p30 will work with FCP5 and later.

    All the best,

    Tom
