The firewire from my JVC BR50 deck to my computer is a little inconsistent so I’m looking for an inexpensive PC capture card to capture footage. What cards are you successfully capturing with?

    Thanks,

In what way? Can you explain what is going on, and include your system and format specs?

I’ve tried it on 3 different systems, laptops, and desktops. I hook up the firewire to the deck, sometimes the system sees the deck, sometimes it doesn’t. I currently have it working consistently, hooked up to an old Imac. I’ve upgraded the br50 firmware to the latest and tried different cables. Sometimes, I was able to fix it by switching to dvcam, and then back to hdv. Sometimes, I was able to fix it by disabling the firewire drivers and reinstalling them. I can’t explain it but it’s currently working on one computer so I’ll try to keep using it there.

    Thanks,
