    Hello,

I have footage that was shot with the JVC HD-100 in 24p mode and I am editing in Final Cut Pro….or let me say that I was hoping to edit.

I don’t have access to camera right now, but I do have the JVC BR-HD50 HDV deck, but it won’t play the tapes. All I get is timecode but no image. I can see the menu screen so the cables appear to be connected corrected.

I wanted to load the tapes in as SD footage because as of now I believe there is no way to bring in native HDV 24p.

Has anyone had any luck using the BR-HD50 to play HDV 24p tapes, if so can they shed some light onto my issue.

I am trying to capture component out (after downconverting with the deck) into my decklink extreme capture card. Or in a perfect world go out via firewire (downconverted) into FCP.

Any input regarding the BR-HD50 or 24p HDV capture would be so greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance

    Matt

you can grab the footage with intermediate codec then convert the clips with cinema tools at 24 or 25 or whatever you need (but you loose timecode )
