I’m using Avid MC 2.8 on an Intel, and I’m trying to communicate with the BR-HD50 with little to no success.

I feel like i’ve tried everything…changed the settings on the deck and in the avid, but they just won’t talk.

I have no problem talking to my other decks…hdcam, digibeta, etc…

it’s just this little sucker that’s giving me a headache.

    Anyone have any zen advice??

    thanks.

Unfortunately, JVC HD decks are not qualified with Avid and will only work in ‘crash’ mode (hit play on deck – hit record on Avid **with local deck control set**). This means no batch recapturing possible!

I feel this is unacceptable on Avid’s part and they should support it, but they don’t seem to be in a hurry to do it. I went with Focus Enhancement’s HD disk recorder and not a deck because of this problem.

    Figured that was the answer.

I’m going with the tried and true method. Bump the footage to HDCam and be done with it!

    thanks.
