JVC BR DV 6000 owners, please help
I put one of these in a while ago, and it works great, I can feed a component signal from my DVD player into it, it is connected to my Kona LH system via a passive component switcher, so I can capture either 8 bit or DV from the DVD through the 6000, or my Beta machine. Fair enough.
The same DVD machine has a VHS on the other side, with only line out from there, so when I feed the composite signal from the VHS player through the 6000 set to “line,” I am getting a signal that I can capture but it is shaking like crazy. Kinda like a massive tracking problem.
To check the VHS deck I fed the line out into my camcorder and it plays fine, so I’m thinking the 6000 has a menu setting I’m missing, or that it can’t properly translate the line in signal to component out. My frustration is compounded in that I can’t find the manual for the JVC, so everything is trial and error, I’m wondering if anyone has a similar setup that works, and how it’s done.
I know I can feed any VHS I need to capture into my camcorder and take it to DV, but that takes twice as long. I just think this has got to work somehow.
Have a wonderful day.
