  • Just double-checking my HDCAM & ProRes settings

    Hi everyone,

I’m about to start a project that’s shooting on HDCAM, and it’s been so long since we used it that last time ProRes wasn’t an option as a digitising codec.

I was going to use the standard ProRes422 setting – am I right in thinking that there is no advantage to using the ProRes422 (HQ) setting as HDCAM is 3:1:1

    Thanks!

That’s correct. There’s no advantage to any 8bit originated source being digitized at ProRes HQ. We only use regular ProRes for all our HD work here.

Thanks Walter, that’s exactly what I thought.
