November 4, 2005 at 10:23 pmWhen you say won’t open….tell me what happens when you double click on the
application in your applications folder, not any alias you might have in the dock
or someplace else. Starts to open then beach ball, doesn’t start to open, opens then
quits….. what exactly?Next, I’d trash your FCP prefs. I could be the OS update effected something there.

November 4, 2005 at 10:24 pmHas anyone upgraded to 10.4.3 and FCP 5.0.3 without problems yet?
I was just about to upgrade tonight, but now I don’t know…

November 4, 2005 at 10:33 pmhi –
I have done both updates and so far so good. Note that I am not doing anything particularly complex, not much more than logging and capturing at the moment, but the particular project was begun in previous updates and seems OK with the newest… so far.

November 5, 2005 at 12:35 amJust be sure to trash preferences or you’ll have problems. I had the same trouble. Trashed preferences. Magically everything worked. Cool.
Hey is Jason Ruha still with you guys? If so, tell him I said hello.

November 5, 2005 at 4:36 amI’ve got an uptime of 3 days now with latest OS & FCP. w/ 10.4.2 seems like I had to restart every 2 days or so to get rid of slugishness. would highly recommend 10.4.3. seems to fix a lot in OS performance area. 5.0.3 still has 2x speed timeline & mouse movement bug though 🙁 … and cmd-option drag still moves windows around – in my opinion a user-interface flaw that should be reverted to 4.5 behaviour.

November 7, 2005 at 3:14 pmHi Richard.
Jason has left us and went out on his own as freelance director, but we still get to work with him from time to time. I’ll tell him you said hi next time I see him.
Take care, and thanks for the tip!

November 7, 2005 at 11:15 pmI just updated to 10.4.3 last night, and have spent the whole day today trying to figure out how to get FCP to recognize my Sony HVR-M10U again… coincidence? Perhaps, but from what I have read here and on Apple posts… I’d wait until you finish whatever project you may have in the hopper
