Just Curious!!
I was wondering if anyone has seen the new Lexus TV ad with the couple who multiply as they walk around a forest then conform back into themselves just before getting into a Red Lexus????
If you’ve seen it maybe you have an idea as to how it was done??? in 3D? on the film? After Effects?
It’s really been racking my brain…it looks great.

I think it was done with a green screen and a camera setup that can duplicate the same movement again and again. Then I think he used the echo effect. The firm that Francois Vogel works for is really good. https://paranoidprojects.com/start.php

I agree with Steve on this. It was definitely done with a motion-control camera rig, which allows you to track a shot, then perfectly duplicate it again and again, plus you can export the tracking info to other systems/software. The background plate looks as if it might be 3D, but it could just be a real forest shot. If you look at where the multiple people’s feet hit the ground, there’s absolutely no disturbance of the leaf litter, so it’s definitely a composite, albeit a very good one.
