Just bought Vegas 12 suite…rendering cineform files
Looking to archive a project i built using cineform avi files. They are 1080-50i.
I noticed under the avi render tab that ‘default template (uncompressed)’ is no longer listed. I instead went for HD 1080-50i YUV and hit customize. I then hit ‘video format’ to select cineform codec.
Is this my best option? Was i right to opt for YUV? 3mins is 2GB
Second question. I now have an i7 Quad core 8gb ram laptop specifically for editing. Hoping i may be able to directly edit avchd.
As before, i’d like to archive my films (approx 90mins) in a relatively lossless format (certainly visually)
Am i right to stick with cineform avi as an archive format? Or are there better options in my Vegas 12 suite?
Now i have a quicker laptop should i archive in avchd?
