jumpy animated stills
I have posted about this before and never received a response, which is strange because I’ve talked to other FCP users who have the same issue.
Basically, my animated stills, when output to quicktime or m2V, get flickery, and jumpy. Not interlace flicker. The stills, either as photo jpegs, or type laid on a transparent background as TIFF, when made to move within the frame, go a little crazy.
I have tried many things to make this go away … blur, deinterlace, flicker reducation, etc… nothing works.
I have never had this problem in FCP before, until now, with the version I have which is 6.06. The timeline settings I use are basic HDV, 1440 x 1080.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First, evaluate the animation on an external monitor, not the Canvas. Next, go to Sequence > Render Selection and check off “Full”, then render the item. Hope that helps you.

already have it in full mode, and in the external monitor they do the same thing as when output.

Do not use HDV as your sequence setting. ProRes or 8 bit uncompressed will be much better.

But the stills are used in a movie that was shot in HDV.
