I have two still images of a map that are exactly the same except one has a pin point on it to mark a location. I want to fade the pinpoint in so it appears on the map, but when I add the transition, the map jumps slightly as if the maps were not identical. They are however, and the jump doesn’t appear without the transition. I only appears sometimes like with the transition or when the images are on different video tracks.

How can I get my maps to transition smoothly with the pinpoint appearing slowly without the weird jump between images?

    Thanks!

The way you’re doing it should work, but it sounds as though your transition is not rendering completely. Look in the Render All dropdown menu and make sure that “Full” is checked, then re-render the entire timeline. Or, you could simply look in the Render Selection dropdown menu and check full there and just render the selection.

For some reason, Apple in its infinite wisdom does not check the lists of items in the render menus. They should really all be checked.

Thanks! I rendered and it no longer jumps. You saved me a lot of headaches…

You may also want to check that you’ve given yourself enough pad on each still that there is enough room for a cross fade or dissolve.
