jpg and print to tape glitch
I video tape the science lectures here at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. We then take the PowerPoint presentations and export the slides to jpg’s. The jpg’s are then inserted into a video track and synched to the video of the lecture and the scientist narration. Upon completion, I try to use the Print to Tape function to return the whole rendered lecture to DVCam tape for archiving. The render looks as though it is working but the tape copy hits a certain jpg and stops failing to render and add the subsequent jpgs. Normally when the render begins it will say there are hundreds of clips to render but when this problem occurs it says there are only a few. I used to be able to correct this by moving the offending jpg to another track. That is not working anymore.

Wow… you HAVE to be the southernmost user of Vegas! First of all, what version of Vegas are you using? This will be the first place to start.

My recommendation as a test would be to do several prerenders over some various sections of the project (you can even pre-render the entire project if you want) but manually do it over smaller sections. Definitely try to prerender over the small section where it’s currently dying. Start about a second before that point and stop several sections after that point just to verify it will render.

That is great advice Edward. I will see how that works. I checked out your js scripts too. Fun stuff. I may be changing jobs soon which will take me out of the Antarctic program and off to a tropical island so this problem will not be mine anymore.
