JPEGs drop to black/Render files disappearing?
Hello All,
I’m working on a multilayer 525i 23.98 NTSC DV/NTSC sequence. We have numerous blue screens with back plates, and several layers of graphics. My project is about 300 MB….really large, and really complicated.
We have several JPEG and TIFF images with moves on them, and for some reason, after we render, a few minutes later FCP either loses the render file completely, or the opacity drops to black??
We’re losing tons of time trying to go back and repair the images that have for some reason fallen to black.
Also, whenever we close down the project, it completely loses its render files (even after saving, and checking the autosave vault).
We’re tried to narrow it down to see if we have a corrupt file in the sequence…. but the project is gigantic and has so many elements, we would be losing another day just to find out if one of the files is having a problem.
Anyone heard of this?
We are using Quicktime 7.2 and FCP 6.0.1

Also, make sure that your TIFFs and JPEGs are all in RGB and not in CMYK. Just in case you are still running into problems.
