  • JPEGS are importing as sequence… How can I get them to show up as individual files?

Posted by Damon Hoydysh on April 3, 2005 at 9:31 pm

I have 300 jpegs in a file, and they are numbered sequentially. When I browse the folder in Motion that contains all of the photos, it displays all 250 as one image – an image sequence. How can I set Motion to recognize each indiviual file? I renamed them in pS with a different prefix – ex. Damon-1, Damon-2, >>> but they are still in sequence. When I rename each one individually they seperate from the sequence, but I don’t have time to rename all 300 files. Any advice?

    Thanks,
    Damon

You don’t have to import the folder, you can import each individual image. Umm, none of mine are sequentially numbered so maybe not altho I can’t think of a reason why not.

If you don’t get any assistance soon, try creating a batch in Photoshop to rename them, shouldn’t be very difficult.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

I tried importing them individually, but still no luck. When they are in the same folder, all in order, they show up as a sequence. I tried a batch renaming in Photoshop, but even with that, they get named in a sequential order. IS this a flaw with Motion?

    Thanks,

There is a button in the Motion File Browser at the bottom of the window to switch between displaying image sequences as collapsed or as individual files (it looks like rectangles stacked on top of each other). Turn this off and you can import a single file instead of a sequence.
