Jpeg Images in NTSC DV Timeline
Hello All,
Why do my jpeg pictures look blurry in my sequence? When I change the codec to Animation in the sequence setting dialog box, they look fine. But when I change it back to DV/DVCPRO NTSC they look like crap? I thought it might be a render issue, but they still look bad when I export the sequence into a QT file. Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Running FCP 6.03 on 2.0 PPC G5 Mac

Very simple, thats the scourge of DV compression. Switch to any other codec as you already found and voila, you avoid the 4.0.0 color space of DV.

Thank you for you reply, for some reason only some of my jpeg images look good, while a couple are looking pretty blurry. The jpeg’s are all the same size and were taken with the same camera (or so I’m told). Do you have any other suggestions?

Make certain that every one of them comes to rest on a full and even numbered vertical scanline in the motion tab. Any still that shows something like 163 or 211.65 will be blurry.
