    Hi!

I’m new to Vegas, but not to NLEs…

In the Vegas help file there are several joysticks listed, which should work with Vegas color correction filters. The problem is, that none of these joysticks is a current model…

Does anybody use Vegas 11 with a joystick on Windows 7 64Bit?

    Any tip would be great!

    Thanky, Tim

The current models i think should still work and be
    recognized by Vegas.

    Thanks Steve for your reply!

Does that mean I should get used joystick like the Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback 2 or the old Logitech Wingman (via Ebay for example)? There are mentioned in the Vegas help file. But there don’t seem to be drivers for Windows 7?

Or shouldn’t I care about the help file and buy another joystick – but a new and current model with Windows 7 drivers?

    Regards,
    Daniel

Not trying to be facetious, but does anyone experienced actually find the use of a joystick productive to their editing?

    This is an interesting question.

I must color correct about 10000 clips in the next months. And I have to rely on Vegas 11, because of its good 3D editing features.

If you must only correct a handful of clips, than it is ok to use the mouse in the color wheels. But because the color wheels are not very big and accurate it needs some time.

I am used to a hardware color correction trackball on a linear editing suite. There you can correct very fast and accurate the color.

And I was very glad to see Vegas supporting some hardware for color correction.

Or is there any other good hardware for color correction in Vegas?

I would love recommendations on a trackball system that others find useful for color correction. I have thought about using a joystick for editing, but it never made sense. If someone uses a system that makes sense or is helpful please let us know.
