I am including some standard dvd-rom content on my dvd (PDFs, HTMLs, MP3s) and by looking around on here and in the DVSP4 manual, i still can’t figure out if i should include a joliet extension for the dvd-rom content or not. as far as i can tell the UDF and ISO volumes that are created would make the dvd work on both windows and macs, and support reasonably long long file names (26 characters) on both platforms. if this is the case, what does joliet really add for me? are there good reasons for using it, or not using it?

    thanks!

Joliet adds longer filenames than the 26 you talk about.

I always make sure Joliet extensions are off for maximum compatability.

If your backing up data with long filenames it should be on.
