Join Through Edit Function?
Posted by Jordan Montreuil on June 2, 2010 at 10:32 pmFCP has a function where you can re-connect two clips in the timeline that are from the same clip and match up in timecode called ‘Join Through Edit’. Does Premiere Pro have anything like this?

September 20, 2011 at 11:20 pmHi fellow FCP users now using PPro. This feature is not in current versions however I know it has been added as a feature request many times since the mass migration. The more its requested the more its likely to come 🙂
Here is the feature request link.

October 17, 2011 at 7:38 pmHere’s a terrible solution…
I was also looking to find a “join through edit” feature in Premiere Pro; the reason is I had created all my cuts on the wrong clip (the one above the one I was actually working on). Solution: I simply selected all the cuts I’d made except the first one and deleted them. I then went back to the first cut and dragged it out to the end making it one single clip again.
Terrible, but it worked.

Being a FCP refugee I agree, a “join though edit” function would be great. I must say I very much enjoy how the whole Adobe Creative Suite works seamlessly together.

September 21, 2012 at 9:34 pmThe answer is no. At this point in time PrP does not have a join function, that I am aware of.
Make a request.
