    Hi,
I’ll cut straight to the chase.. I have 4 AVI videos with 720×590 resolution, total duration of 50 minutes, and size of 2 GB, the video quality in these original files is ok by me because I’m gonna make a DVD of them.
here’s the deal, I want to make a one big 50 mnts video out of them and make a DVD by tomorrow night, but when I try to render it in any template it requires ridiculous amounts of time and capacity ( some asked for 500 GB for a 50 mnt video wtf?!! ) I’m using Vegas 11 and I cant tell which rendering option to choose to obtain the same modest DVD quality I had in the raw videos and with a reasonable size of 2-4 GB or so, is that even possible and how?
thanks again in advance , please reply as soon as you see this, cuz its very important that i get this project ready in 18 hrs.

    Tarik,

I’m sure John will tell you to use MPEG-2 and AC3 codecs.

Video: MainConcept MPEG-2 DVD Architect NTSC video stream
Audio: Dolby Digital AC3 Stereo DVD

Plug these into DVD Architect and you’re good to go.

And on a personal note please consider leaving off the colorful exclamations, thank you.

Thanks Jeff for the help, appreciate it.
when I choose the rendering option you gave me (MainConcept MPEG-2 DVD Architect NTSC video stream)afterward what do I need to do to get on the DVD ?
does it come out as a one file or as a folder with sound and video files ?
    Thanks!

You need to create a DVD Architect project. Bring in your mpeg files to it, making sure the audio is brought in as well. Then make the DVD.

There are plenty of youtube videos on how to use DVDA and also the help is very helpful.

    Good luck,

    Jeff
