  • Joe’s Filters – where to get? or alternative to deal with XDCAM Cine Gamma

Posted by Bob Cole on October 26, 2011 at 7:12 pm

Shooting with Cine gamma on XDCAM (EX1R in my case), I have been told that I should take a look at Joe’s Filters. The website seems to be semi-shut-down. Anybody know where to get this software? Alternatively, does someone have some guidance on how to deal with Cine Gamma footage in FCP?

    Thanks.

If you use filters while editing you will need to render. If you wait till editing is done, then using curves in Color will give you much better control of gamma.

I have Joe’s filters and many others but I must admit I don’t do gamma or grading type adjustments in the FCP timeline except for still images and then I use Colorista 2 which also has curves.

    Hi Bob,
I agree with Michael, the best option to deal with gamma is the Color curves.
However you can try the Nattress filters those works in 10b in FC,
