I wasn’t sure where to post this, as there wasn’t an Apple Compressor Forum, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way in the new Compressor 3.5 to tie a Job Action to a droplet. It seems as though Apple has given us great ways to automate workflows using droplets, and the recently added Job Actions feature is another great way to automate tasks, but I can’t seem to find a way to tie them together.

Droplets only seem to take the settings from Presets. Those Presets allow you to tie an AppleScript to the end of a job, but I don’t yet have the AppleScript chops to do what I want to do. I CAN, however, get done what I need to with an Automator action, but I can only tie an Automator action to the end of an encode using a Job Action, which can’t be tied to a Droplet!

Another reason one might choose to tie a job action to a droplet would be to allow you to tie the new “upload to YouTube” feature to a droplet. That would be quite handy.

If anyone knows a trick to this that I’m just not getting, I’d greatly appreciate it if you could share! Otherwise, I guess I’ll post it to Apple as a feature request.

    Thanks so much!
