November 9, 2005 at 3:50 pmI do thank you for your suggestion, but i dont post rants here until im sure its not operator error (thats usually my gut reaction to the assistants and editors i support).
Ive been complaining a lot on the cow recently about final cut.
This is because we are using it on a professional level, and the pro end has been getting the short end of the stick. -

November 9, 2005 at 6:59 pmYes it happens here too. It’s more annoying with a Wacom because even when you’re hovering the pen, the tablet is constantly sending the Mac it’s coordinates and FCP freezes.

November 9, 2005 at 8:34 pmExactly. This is why its a huge problem for the professional/film/broadcast market, since we all use a wacom, and are always hovering.

November 9, 2005 at 8:37 pmI’m just curious as to why Kevin isn’t experiencing the problems that everyone else is.

November 9, 2005 at 9:20 pmAh!…now that the problem is explained a bit better, I am actually able to reproduce the behavior. Since I am not a mouser while I am JKL’ing, (preferring keyboard shortcuts for almost all my edit functions) I had not detected this anomaly–since my mouse or pen usually remain static.
You cannot move the mouse or hover with the pen as you shuttle with JKL or you’ll get stuttery behavior to the point where FCP will stop. This appears to happen in not only the viewer, but the timeline and the canvas as well.
Does this happen only with Waccom?

November 9, 2005 at 9:29 pmPhew! There’s nothing worse than someone saying “works fine here” 😉
No it’s not directly Wacom related (as I mentioned before) but the problem IS more obvious with a hovering Wacom pen constantly sending it’s position to the Mac. Hence why Wacom users are the most upset by the bug.
