In FCP7 and Premiere if you push L several times, the playback speeds up and if you want to slow back down, you push J. That way you can continue to play the clip. But in FCPX if I push L several times, then push J, the clip starts playing in reverse. Is there a way to either change this behavior or a way to do what I want?

Hold L and K at the same time.

That just takes you into slowmo mode. I think he wants to step back from say 3x to 2x speed.

I don’t remember FCP legacy working that way. I would always just hit k, and then ramp up again. But maybe it did.

I thought FCP7 behaved that way, but maybe I’m remembering incorrectly. It works that way in Premiere anyways and I like it. Oh well.

It does. I miss this behavior in FCPX too.

[Jeremy Garchow] “t does. I miss this behavior in FCPX too.

I wish that would get implemented. I’m always hitting J and going backwards. Miss it in X
