When I import AVCHD footage, the footage looks jittery and scratchy. When I drag the footage into the timeline, I automatically get a yellow render line. Once I render the footage, it plays back fine. I shouldn’t have to render footage that doesn’t have any filters or effects on it. Is this a formatting issue? Is there a setting in the sequence that I need to change? The footage was shot on a Panasonic dv camera on an SD card, 720p 60fps. Here are my specs.

    HP

    Intel Core I7-930 Processor
    8gb ram
    1 terabyte external hard drive
    GTX 285 Nvidia graphics card

    Thanks for the help.

You should mention the model of the camcorder also, some flavors of compressed video can be strenuous on a system if you are trying to view them at full quality.

I shot on a Panasonic HMC 150 onto a class 10 SD card.
