Im trying to find a solution to getting Jitter frames after burning DVD’s (Though DVD Studio Pro 4).

On occasion if i burn DVD’s after importing files I exported from FCP (version 6.0.3)., when i view the DVD on a Television the picture is jittery. Do not have this problem when viewing on a MAC.

The only solution to this i have come up with so far is to re-export out of FINAL Cut shaving off one or 2 frames from my video. If your in a hurry this can be a hindrance so how can I avoid getting this in the first place.

    Hey William,

It sounds like a settings issue. Keep in mind that computer monitors are inherently progressive, and so video looks different than on an interlaced TV set.

If I had to guess given your details, it sounds like an interlace issue. Are you using DSP’s encoder, or are you using Compressor (or something different)? It sounds like what happens when you have a field order/de-interlace setting wrong, or possibly the maximum bit rate is too high. Some set-top DVD players can’t handle really high MBRs, and can lag as a result.

I guess I’m wondering your workflow, and what exactly you mean by jittery picture.

    Thanks,
    Keith
