  JH-3 23.98PD Firewire audio problem

  Hi all,
  I’m using a Sony JH-3 hooked up via firewire to offline HDCAM 23.98 fps footage. The deck is set in 23PD (pulldown) mode, to output at 29.97 fps, DV. I’m using a standard DV NTSC Anamorphic 29.97 fps setup to capture in FCP. Here’s my problem:

  In 23PD mode, the JH-3 firewire audio is corrupted, but the analog (headphone output) is OK

  In 23.98 mode, the sound in the headphone is fine, but I can’t capture both video and audio via firewire, whatever settings used in FCP (I’ve tried a bunch)

  I’ve tried so many settings and combinations that I’m a bit lost. Right now, since this capture was urgent, I’m capturing firewire in 23PD mode and using the analog audio out for the sound, since the firewire sound is messed up. Anyone knows how to setup FCP and the JH-3 so I can capture both video and audio via firewire to 23.98 or 29.97 ? Thanks a lot !
