Jerky video right before cuts
Hello,
We have been having a very compromising problem with FCP 6.0.6. Whenever we make a cut with 2 different video clips and playback it in the canvas, right before the transition from one clip to another the playback becomes incredibly jerky and only stabilises shortly after the cut, making it pretty much impossible to see whether the cut was good or not. I believe this has to do with dropped frames if I’m not mistaken. We’ve tried the lowest playback quality possible and external video monitoring is off but the problem persists. We’re using a 2006 Mac Pro with Tiger and a 2GB RAM.What am I missing? Is there any way to get around this? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Please give the exact item properties of the clips you’re editing and the exact item properties of the sequence in which you’re editing.

Aud format: 32-bit floating point -
H.264 should never be used in FCP. It’s a delivery format. The media should be converted to Prores or ProRes LT.
