jerky playback on premiere cs6 with avchd from panasonic AF101 footage
Hi everybody!
I have a peculiar problem.. I have 2To of different footage I did during a trip through Africa.
We filmed with 5D, 7D, sony fs100, nex5, gopros, and Panasonic AF101 !
I didn’t convert all footage in prores or equivalent because I don’t have space to keep it.What is weird is that only the footage I took with pana AF101 causes me some isssues.
I have got a pretty strong machine (MacPro 2×2.8GHz quad-core Intel Xeon with 22Go DDR2) the external Hard Drive is plugued in usb3.
Sometimes I can playback without any problem the video during few minutes, but most of the time it takes time to play it, or a still image is on the screen while sound continue to playback or even the screen turns black and I have no more sound even when the “read-head” is forwarding. And it doesn’t happen at the same points everytime.
Does somebody have any advice for me? Should I convert all my footage? In that case can I do an off-line edit? How do I do that? When I have to relink my medias is there some issues if the extension (.mpg .mov .mts) is not the same for proxy and original medias?
I know there is a lot of question but I will be realy grateful if somebody can answer even only some of them!
Thank you
Benoit
