I’ve released the January emitter library. Just a reminder that emitters with “(mb+)” in their names are meant to be used with motion blur with more than usual extra frames. in particleIllusion SE you can’t change the number of motion blur frames, so these emitters may not look as “smooth” as they should, but in 3.0 you just change the number of frames in the Project Settings dialog. A normal number of frames is 3 or 4, but these “(mb+)” emitters should have 6 or more frames. The more frames, the smoother it is.

On a related note, if you start adding a large number of frames (10-20 or more) you’ll start seeing interesting things happen on some emitters, especially if they contain “intense” particles — the effect looks much different than it does with fewer MB frames. (This doesn’t just apply to emitters in this month’s library.)

Also, using Regular MB can give a different look than High-Quality MB, so make sure you check both. (Unless your video hardware does not accelerate HQ MB — then it’s so slow that you probably won’t use it much.)

Remember, there is an SE version of this library too — all of the emitters converted this month (although as mentioned above they won’t look as good as they do in 3.0 due to MB limitations of SE).
