    Hi Jan,

I was hoping you might have some info on the chances/timeframe for AVC-I support in FCP 6?

I am very interested in the HPX-2000, but I really am a bit concerned about being able to bring in the files directly from the P2 card to hard disk and edit in FCP.

Will this only be possible using HD-SDI output from the camera? If not, when do you expect support to show up in FCP?

    Thanks,

    Tim

At their NAB booth in April, Apple showed FCP editing AVC-Intra files by using their ProRes 422 codec. I’m not an Apple user so I didn’t really check it out, but as I understand it it’s a file-based import, not a live “capture” system like HDSDI would require.
