Hope someone can help. I have a Sony HDR – SR11, Vegas Pro 8b & now 8c. The system is an AMD dual core 2009 Mhz, 3 gb ram, plenty of HDD space on SATA11 drives, & Windows XP pro.

I am getting jaggy edges on moving objects when I crop the video. I have tried without cropping & no problem, no problems with anything else that I can see. Same problem with 8b & 8c versions.

I have adjusted the template settings in the Project Properties, with no success. I have the settings on HDV 1080-50i(1440×1080, fps) at the moment but I have tried numerous others. I have trialled rendering to see if that made it better or worse but that didn’t work either. The field order is upper field first. pixel format is 8-bit.

I have just used the same clips with PAL DV Widescreen(720×576, 25fps)settings, & cropped down about 50% to really test it and have got the same jaggy edges.
    Would appreciate some help
    Thanks
    Fran

    Thanks folks for the answers,
Just after I posted my questions I realised the problem was settings.
For some unknown reason I completely ignored the Deinterlace method settings. So it was set on none, set it on Blend & hey presto, no jaggy edges. Only time they happen now is when the preview setting is very low quality. So was not a Vegas fault it was the operator.
    Thanks
    Fran
