    Hello,
Im creating an animated title in pro animator, rendering it and importing it into ae7.
Im useing the animation codec @ best to get the alpha chanel with it.
Then when I bring it into AE7, im geting jagey edges. (on the quick time file out of AE as well)
Whats the best render settings and codec for REALLY CLEAN TEXT???
I tried uncompressed 8 bit and it wasnt any better.
    Thinking about a pic sequence……….?.?.?.?.
PA and Comp settings are basic ntsc dv 29.97

    Any ideas????

    Bruce,

Any lossless codec will avoid artifacts. Animation+ would be fine.

The jaggy edges you’re seeing may be the result of several things:

How you’re interpreting the alpha channel. .. straight or multiplied.

You may also be looking at the movie in draft, rather than best mode.

Or be seeing the effect of interlaced video. In the last case, interlacing looks bad on a computer but great on a television.

Tell us more about your rendering settings and we might be able to track down what’s going on.

    Jon
