J-H3 no device control on FCP
Hi guys,
Trying to capture from a Sony J-H3. Material shot 1080p 24
We are using FCP 6 with a DeckLink HD Extreme.
We connected the deck through the HD-SDI out to the card’s
HD-SDI in.We have the deck’s RS-232 remote cable patched to the card.
Deck is set to 23.98psf
Capture is set to Blackmagic HDTV 1080psf
Device control set to RS-232 (the one intended for UVW-1400)
In Log and Capture we have picture coming in — I can capture now
(and not receive TC)“No communication” — no deck control.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

use an decklink easy setup (decklink hd 1080 23.98)
don’t try to create a custom one… -
The JH3 is RS-422, not 232. That could be a good place to start. 😉
